Akoma = meaning “heart” in the Akan language. An Adinkra symbol of love, goodwill and endurance.
AkomaHeart was born from a journey of self discovery and a deep love of Ghana.
Imani & Nahdeannah have been travelling to Ghana for over twenty years, Imani exploring her ancestral lineage and Nahdeannah wanting to seek greener pastures outside of the United Kingdom. Both were transformed by each visit, leading to a desire to share their experiences with others who also want to explore Ghana.
The decision to offer guided tours was born in 2015 and has since grown to include one on one tours plus volunteer programs with local schools and hospitals.
AkomaHeart villa was built as a cosy home stay for anyone interested in travelling to Ghana. Filled with modern-day amenities whilst paying homage to traditional Ghanaian living styles, AkomaHeart offers something for all.
As qualified yoga teachers, both Imani & Nahdeannah include a daily yoga session as part of your experience, helping you connect to your body, release stress and increase mobility.
